First Encounters

We had all the rest of the day to tighten loose ends before our departure the following morning.
Elessar went about in the market place asking about Omaron and his house but didn't get much out of it. Ajisha dragged Ivor and played some music in a crowded square and later spent the money gained from ther performance on a good hearty meal with Ivor. Jarl was nowehere to be seen, presumably he was drinking his brains out in a tavern somwhere. I decided to perform my Karma Ritual before retreating to the inn and sat in a quiet corner sipping some mead and listened to the hearsay. Didn't gather much except that I heard a persistent rumor saying that organized crime is making a foothold in Bartertown.
The following morning we meet with Omaron. With him there are other guards and his staff. There are his uncle Vistum, a dwarf too, Gehebu, the Obsidiman bodyguard, Asti, the temperamental human cook (after a closer look he turned out to be a human midget not a dwarf as was our first impression), Sadol and Dren, two dwarf serfs and another 4 guards namely, Zaphon, an ork scout, Karla, a human archer, Ged, a dwarf warrior and finally Wilks, a trainee dwarf warrior. There were also 20 pack horses laden with various merchandise and three mules.
Omaron informed us that we were headed for Ardanian, four days travel away and that we would follow a well travelled route.
During the trip I was on point with Zaphon and Ajisha. The ork was grumbling about how the ork scorchers were giving a bad name to all the ork population in the vicinity.
The first encounter comes a few minutes later. Ajisha with her vantage point informed us that she could see three figures approaching the caravan from the front. They turned out to be three humans, a certain Kovan, a questor of Mynbruje and his two attendants. They saluted and moved on.
A human hunter named Jarvis crossed our paths an hour later. He stopped to chatter with us and also sold us some of his fresh catch and a wolf pelt to me for a bargain price of 1 silver piece.
The rest of the day was uneventful as was the night apart from the musings of Asti and Ajisha's sweet voice.
The following day, late in the morning Vistum, Omaron's uncle, twists an ankle and has to be given a ride by shifting some of the weight on other mounts.
Following that Ajisha spots a rider on a Troajin. It turns out he is a dwarf messenger and doesn't even salute us as he sped by, ignoring us.
Later in the afternoon, our eagle eyed spotter identifies a trio of mounted figures clopping leisurely towards our caravan. We take our precautions but the three are high circle adepts on a foray from Parlainth. They introduce themselves as Hulgran, a large troll with a huge longbow strung over his broad back, T'Tek a T'Skrang swordmaster and Batch, a human Thief. Both parties go their separate ways after pleasantries are exchanged.
A few hours later we camp for the night. During our party's watch, Jarl notices that the horses are on edge and after using his heat sight realizes that we were being ambushed by wolves. He cries out in alarm as we prepared to fend off the hungry beasts.
In the end only Zaphon and Asti were injured badly before the wolves scurried away. The others were either uninjured or slightly wounded and 4 of the wolves were lying dead or dying including what seemed their alpha male.

Prison Break

Shouts of pain echo loudly down the corridor. We wake up dazed and bruised and also somewhat afraid from the sounds we were hearing. As soon as we wake up we find ourselves imprisoned in a badly ridden cold cell. We were two Dwarfs an Elf a T’Skrang and a Human. We immediately head for the door to try to escape, but with no luck as the door was locked by a large lock placed on the outside. It was not a sturdy door at all, easily brought down if one had to ram it, however we would do too much noise and the guards would come for us. We take a peek from one of the cracks in the door and we notice that in the corridor outside sitting in a bird cage was an unhappy female Windling.

All of a sudden we hear voices coming from the far end of the corridor. They get closer and closer still, we clearly see them through the cracks in the door an Elf and a Human. As soon as they arrive in front of our cell the human stops and waits for the elf to continue further on as soon as the elf was somewhat distant he placed a bunch of keys on some crates situated on one of the corridor sides. He opens one of the crates and takes out a small box; he opens it and with one of his fingers picks up some splendid gem stones which reflect the brazier light splendidly. As soon as he does so a shout from the elf is heard questioning were he is, the human gets a fright and leaves both the gems and the keys on the small crates and quickly goes to meet the elf.

Out of a small hole in the sealing we hear a female voice calling. She introduces herself as being Terishia and asks us if we could manage to reach the keys the guard had left just an instance ago. She also tells us that she and a bunch of other friends of her will be able to cover our escape. We try to think on what can we do to manage to get the keys but no plausible plan could be found than Terishia hands us a four foot string and asks us if this could be of any help and indeed it was with the string we manage to bring down the windling cage to where we could reach and the T’Skrang deftly did open it allowing the windling to get out take the keys and in turn open our cell as well as the other prisoners’ cell.

We quickly open the crates and arm ourselves as best we could. Ajishia the windling being the stealthiest moved up a staircase to scout ahead. She reported a guard present in the first floor. Ahmok the T’Skrang rushes up the stairs to try to take the guard by surprise but the guards’ sense are very keen and instead gets Ahmok flat footed. The guard seeing Ahmok scream out “the prisoners are escaping”, Hearing this Ahmok turns and strikes him with the short sword knocking him on the floor with the thrust. Elissar the Elf rushes up after hearing the guard scream and finishes him using his magic. We continue to head through the corridor until we met a person, who definitely was not a guard as his attire was different, who told us to head east if we are to escape. So we do and indeed the direction was the right one as it lead out of the prison. As soon as we stepped out three guards rush upon us we quickly dispatch them and look for a fast means to escape. We see some horses and run to them so as to escape and head to the nearby city.

With the gems that Ahmok smuggled from the prisons we bought some weapons and armour to equip ourselves and split the remaining evenly between the five of us. Whilst in town, we are approached by a windling named Long Fellow. We get on with some chatting and after a short while he mentions that we are the right people for a job. He says that we are to go to the Merchant type in Barter Town and talk to a guy named Omaren.

We head their and meet this Omaren. He immediately greets us into his house. We went in and Omaren make us meet two other people being an Obsidiman guard named Geheb and his dwarf mother named Tamin. He starts talking and tells us that he requires escort from a group of mercenaries to accompany him in a journey. Omaren is to travel to Urupa to buy a special gift and than had straight to Travar where he will gift this gift to the father of his fiancé in order to give him permission to marry his daughter. We accept the job and immediately prepare for the long journey to come. That same night before all five get lost in their sleep they all think about what perils are in reserve for them and how to shape their own faith.

The Journey Begins……………
